Indomie supports teen cyclist’s Guinness Record attempt to drive autism awareness across Nigeria

Nigeria’s foremost instant noodle brand, Indomie, has thrown its weight behind 15-year-old autism advocate, Kanyeyachukwu Tagbo, as he undertakes an ambitious cross-country cycling journey aimed at promoting autism awareness and inclusion.
The initiative, themed “Journey of Possibility, #RideWithKanye,” will see the teenager cycle from Enugu to Lagos, passing through multiple cities while engaging communities on the importance of understanding and supporting individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Beyond advocacy, the journey is also an official attempt to secure a place in the Guinness World Records, with Kanyeyachukwu seeking recognition as the youngest autistic individual to complete a cross-country cycling expedition. The ride is expected to culminate in Lagos on World Autism Awareness Day, aligning with global efforts to foster acceptance, empathy, and equal opportunities for people on the autism spectrum.
Commenting on the company’s support, Temitope Ashiwaju, Group Corporate Communications and Events Manager at Indomie, said the brand remains committed to spotlighting inspiring stories of young Nigerians who defy the odds.
“At Indomie, we are passionate about empowering children to dream big and achieve beyond expectations,” Ashiwaju stated. “Kanyeyachukwu’s determination highlights the incredible potential that exists when young people are given the right support. We are honoured to be part of his journey to inspire hope and drive greater awareness for autism.”
Kanyeyachukwu is also a past recipient of the Indomie Heroes Awards, a platform that recognises Nigerian children who have shown outstanding courage, resilience, and positive impact in their communities. Since receiving the honour, he has continued to use his voice and platform to challenge stereotypes and promote inclusion for individuals with autism.
Through this cycling campaign, the young advocate aims to demonstrate that people on the autism spectrum can achieve remarkable feats when given the opportunity to thrive.
The journey will conclude with a gathering of supporters and partners in Lagos, marking the completion of the ride while reinforcing the call for a more inclusive society.
Indomie, through initiatives such as the Indomie Heroes Awards and its backing of the “Journey of Possibility,” continues to celebrate and empower young Nigerians whose achievements reflect the boundless potential of the nation’s youth.
