FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc’s dairy brand, Three Crowns Milk, has renewed its pledge to champion women’s welfare through health outreach and cultural engagement in South East Nigeria.
The company honoured mothers at this year’s August Meeting in Owerri, Imo State, an event held over the weekend that underscored the brand’s ties to the region’s cultural traditions.
Widely regarded as one of the South East’s most prominent cultural gatherings, the August Meeting draws women from communities across Nigeria and the diaspora for a homecoming centred on empowerment, networking, and community building. This year’s edition continued that tradition, giving women a space to reconnect and reinforce shared values.
True to its positioning as a brand devoted to mothers, Three Crowns Milk hosted a lineup of activities including brand engagement sessions, dairy education, games, product sampling, and giveaways honouring the roles mothers play in their households and communities.
A highlight of the day was the brand’s empowerment programme, which gave attendees guidance on health, financial literacy, and agriculture. Thirty women from underserved backgrounds also received business start-up equipment as part of the initiative — a move the company says reflects its broader push to support mothers’ wellbeing and livelihoods.
The event took place on Saturday at Umuorii Field, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Umuorii, drawing women from Umualum, Umuorii, Umuoba, Okwu, Owalla, Owaelu, Umunahu, Orji, Amakohia, and Akwakuma communities.
Imo State’s First Lady, Chioma Uzodimma, was represented at the event by Nduka Ijeoma, wife of the Managing Director of the Anambra/Imo River Basin Development Authority. Actress and influencer Ebelle Okaro also made an appearance, adding to the day’s festivities.
Speaking at the event, FrieslandCampina WAMCO’s Marketing Director, Maureen Ifada, said the company holds the view that thriving women lead to thriving families and communities. “Through Three Crowns Milk, we remain committed to creating platforms that celebrate, support, and empower mothers, because they are the foundation of healthier families and stronger societies,” she said, adding that the August Meeting offered a fitting moment to engage with the women of Imo State around culture, community, and wellness.
Three Crowns Milk’s Marketing Manager, Chioma Otisi-Igwe, echoed the sentiment, noting that the brand’s support for mothers goes beyond nutrition to include creating real opportunities for them to succeed.
