Aim One expands reach of Marketing Mentorship Initiative with second edition
Aim One Company has officially unveiled the second edition of its Marketing Mentorship Program (MMP 2.0), broadening the initiative’s footprint with stronger industry backing, a live brand challenge, and participants drawn from across Africa.
The leadership-focused programme attracted over 300 expressions of interest at launch. After a detailed, multi-phase selection process, the pool was narrowed to 80 qualified applicants representing six countries, with 30 emerging professionals ultimately chosen to participate. Each participant has been matched with one of 26 seasoned industry mentors.
Designed as an intensive eight-week experience, the programme combines structured mentorship, practical assignments, executive knowledge sessions, and hands-on brand engagement. Organisers say the goal is to bridge the gap between theoretical marketing knowledge and real-world business impact.
Founder Aizehi Itua explained that the initiative was created to anchor marketing development in practical business realities. He observed that marketing today operates at the crossroads of growth, culture, innovation, and trust, yet many professionals are still trained to focus on outputs rather than measurable business outcomes.
According to him, MMP seeks to help marketers move beyond campaign execution toward influencing strategic business decisions. The broader objective, he added, is to nurture professionals who are not only technically skilled but also trusted contributors at leadership level.
At the programme’s Orientation Day, Elizabeth Ogunseye, President of the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals in Nigeria, formally endorsed the initiative. She praised its structured approach to professional development and described it as the type of deliberate capacity-building effort the marketing industry urgently needs.
She reaffirmed the association’s support for initiatives that cultivate leadership responsibility and raise professional standards within the ecosystem.
A standout component of this year’s edition is the Capstone Brand Challenge, sponsored by Imperio Cosmetics Limited. Under this segment, participants will collaborate in teams to craft strategic marketing solutions based on a live brief from the cosmetics brand.
The teams are expected to present their proposals during a physical Demo Day scheduled for April 25, 2026, offering them the opportunity to translate insights gained throughout the programme into practical, market-ready strategies.
The executive learning sessions will feature respected industry leaders, including Eyitayo Omoyele, Chief Executive Officer of United Republic; Franklin Ozekhome of Chain Reactions Africa; and Lampe Omoyele, Managing Director of Nitro 121. The speakers are expected to share practical insights drawn from their leadership experiences.
MMP 2.0 also enjoys institutional support from the Experiential Marketers Association of Nigeria, the Association of Digital Marketing Professionals in Nigeria, and The Comms Avenue, underscoring a collective industry commitment to grooming future-ready marketing leaders.
The programme will continue through April 2026, culminating in a high-level Demo Day where participants will showcase their capstone solutions before key stakeholders across the marketing and communications landscape.
