Bolt, Plexus, others salute Chioke at 60

It is encomia galore as the Group Managing Director of Afrinvest (West Africa), Dr Ike Chioke, clocks 60 years.

The earliest ones came from Bolt Super Lubricant and Plexus, two international firms that greeted the newest sexagenarian for his impact on Nigeria and Africa’s financial industry.

In its felicitation signed by the Managing Director, Chief Jack Ogbuagu, Bolt wished Chioke good health, happiness and continued success.

“For joining the sexagenarian club, we proudly celebrate Dr Ike Chioke, the Group Managing Director of Afrinvest and a distinguished son of Enugu State.

“On this your 60th birthday, we at Bolt Super Lubricant acknowledge your outstanding leadership and contributions to Nigeria’s financial sector,” Ogbuagu stated.

On its part, Plexus, a leading Marketing Communication firm in Africa, described the Enugu State-born financial guru as the best thing that ever happened to Africa’s money markets.

The Principal Consultant, Mr Ozioma Ubabukoh, wondered how the continent’s finance sector would have been save the advent of Afrinvest, courtesy of Chioke and Godwin Obaseki, the immediate past governor of Edo State.

Ubabukoh stated, “With its unstable financial markets, Africa is not the best place to place a bet when it comes to money market. But experts such as Prince Ike Chioke instilled confidence in investors, which places Nigeria’s economy in the league of leaders in the continent.

“Plexus management and staff, on this occasion of your 60th birthday, wish you many more years of service and many happy returns.”

Other groups have also extended felicitations to the philanthropist who supports education, sports, and the arts, who turns 60 on October 5.

Also, Afrinvest Consulting Limited, a subsidiary of Afrinvest West Africa Limited, is not left out in the celebration.

The Managing Director, Abiodun Keripe, described Chioke as a man whose life and career embody vision, integrity and service.

He stated, “Today, I celebrate Ike Chioke at 60 — a man whose life and career embody vision, integrity, and service. Over the years, he has distinguished himself as a leader in the capital market, a mentor to many, and a committed contributor to national development. His impact is felt not only in the institutions he has built, but also in the lives he has touched.

“We honour his achievements, his character and his enduring legacy as he marks this milestone. Happy 60th birthday, Ike.”

Chioke has over 30 years of investment-banking experience, having worked at Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Smith Barney in New York and London. He attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, chairs the board of the Anambra State Promotion & Protection Agency, and runs Afrinvest West Africa. He is married to Yvonne, and they have three children.
