Ogunjobi to lead judging panel for Industry Awards 2024

 

 

The Industry Newspaper, a leading brand marketing publication in West Africa and the organizer of the Industry Summit/Awards, has officially announced the judging panel for the sixth edition of its prestigious awards ceremony in Lagos.

Renowned broadcast journalist and business editor at TVC News, Mr. Tolulope Ogunjobi, has been appointed as the chairman of the jury for the 2024 edition, widely regarded as a benchmark for excellence within the brand marketing ecosystem in West Africa.

Joining Ogunjobi on the panel are seasoned professionals including Raheem Akingbolu, senior correspondent at Thisday Newspaper; Afolabi Idowu, marketing correspondent at The Nation; Melvin Udosen, publisher of Brandessence Magazine; Adedayo Odulaja, secretary of the Brand Journalists Association of Nigeria; and Daniel Obi, media business editor at BusinessDay Newspaper and chairman of BJAN.

According to a statement from the event organizers, the selection process involves a rigorous evaluation of nominees compiled by editors at The Industry Newspaper. Each nominee is assessed based on their industry track record and innovative contributions in 2024.

The Industry Awards is structured into several categories, recognizing Champions, Pathfinders, Practitioners, Future Leaders, as well as Brands, Products, and Services. Some of the distinguished accolades include Governor of the Year, CEO of the Year, Doyen of Advertising in Africa, Most Effective Public Communication, Business Personality, Green Energy Champion, Young Advertising Person in Africa, and Women in Advertising, among others.

Publisher of The Industry Newspaper and convener of The Industry Summit/Awards, Goddie Ofose, reaffirmed his confidence in Ogunjobi’s leadership. “With Mr. Ogunjobi at the helm, this jury is highly motivated to select the most deserving winners. His experience, alongside the expertise of other jury members, ensures a commitment to credibility, accuracy, and fairness,” Ofose stated.

Ogunjobi’s extensive background in media, particularly his role as Chairman of the Industry Recognition Awards Committee, further establishes his credibility in steering the selection process.

This year’s awards coincide with the 2025 Industry Summit, themed “Understanding Changing Consumer Preferences in a Challenging FMCG Space.” The two-day event is scheduled for Friday, May 2, 2025, for the lecture session, followed by the awards dinner on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Keynote speaker for the summit is Lampe Omoyele, Managing Director of Nitro 121 marketing company, while the special guest of honor is O’tega Ogra, Senior Special Assistant to the Nigerian President on Digital Media and Engagement.

The summit will feature an insightful panel discussion with industry leaders including Mr. Ayo Awosika, GM, Commercial, UAC Foods; Mr. Remi Akanda, Director, Marketing & Corporate Communications, LAPO Microfinance Bank; Mr. Adeola Amosun, Group Media Manager, Tolaram; Mr. Gbemileke Lawal, Marketing Manager, Grand Oak Limited; and Ms. Oluseun Mudashiru, Brand Manager, Big Bull Rice, TGI Group.

Also joining the panel are Mrs. Roseline Abaraonye, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), N.N. Fems Group, and Mrs. Ifeoluwa Esther Obafemi, Head of Digital, Media & Insights (Digital Transformation) for Sub-Saharan Africa at FrieslandCampina WAMCO. The session will be moderated by Ms. Gift Uche-Ewule, Assistant Brand Manager at Indomie.

The Industry Awards 2024 promises to be a defining moment in recognizing outstanding contributions to the brand marketing landscape in West Africa.
