Lion Ibrahim Bello assumes leadership of Lions Club District 404B3

Lions Club International District 404B3 publicly presented Lions Dr. Ibrahim Jide Bello as the District Governor for the 2024/2025 Lions Service Year during a weekend event in Lagos.

Lion Bello, a dedicated humanist, is a highly respected banker with 30 years of experience in commercial banking operations, relationship management, credit analysis, business strategy, risk management, and marketing.

Expressing his gratitude for being appointed as the Governor of Lions Club District 404B3, Lion Bello said, “I feel deeply humbled by this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve with dedicated and compassionate beings. Together we can really make a difference and change people’s lives. Let us go forward with determination, optimism, and a shared commitment to serving humanity.”

International Director – CA8 Africa (2024-2026), Lion Princess Bridget Adetope Tychus, advised the new District Governor, saying, “As you take the mantle of leadership of your district, I enjoin you to put optimal use, your experience over the years as a lion and the leadership skill you have acquired during the various training programmes you have attended, together with the human resources that abound in your district to serve the communities in your district, leaving indelible footprints for posterity.”

Addressing the N200 million fundraising campaign for the 2024/2025 Lions Service Year, aimed at feeding 5,000 people and distributing 3,000 eyeglasses among other projects, Dr. Bello stated, “We will prioritize the construction of a ‘Food Court’ to provide nutritious meals to those in need, ensuring that no one goes to bed hungry because we aim to reach 5,000 people.”

He emphasized the club’s plan to distribute 3,000 eyeglasses to individuals with vision impairments. “Clear vision is essential for a better quality of life. We will focus on distributing eyeglasses across our district to those who cannot afford them, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to see the world. Our target is to build on last year’s efforts with an additional 3,000 eyeglasses,” he said.

Additionally, the club will expand its community service efforts to address childhood cancer. Dr. Bello remarked, “Childhood cancer is a critical issue that demands our attention. We will enhance our efforts to support children and their families affected by cancer through medical assistance, awareness campaigns, and emotional support.”

Dr. Bello assured the Lions present that he would work tirelessly to extend the club’s services to more communities in need. He highlighted the importance of recruiting new members, particularly the youth and senior citizens, while retaining current members through engaging and impactful initiatives.

He reiterated the club’s commitment to building strong corporate partnerships with local and international organizations to amplify its resources and extend its reach. He also mentioned that the club would provide training and development opportunities to ensure members are equipped to lead with confidence and competence.
