MEST Africa unveils top 5 startups contenders for $50K equity prize in 2023 MEST frica Challenge

MEST Africa has revealed the top 5 startups contending for the $50,000 equity prize in the 2023 MEST Africa Challenge (MAC), a continent-wide competition for early-stage tech startups. The selected Regional Winners emerged triumphant after intense pitch sessions, surpassing 40 competing startups from Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa. The finalists, spanning diverse sectors such as fintech, health tech, e-commerce, and edtech, are set to compete for the grand prize.

Introducing the Winners:

Letaji (Kenya): Transforming the construction industry, Letaji operates as an online marketplace streamlining the acquisition of building materials, connecting homeowners, contractors, and hardware stores directly with leading suppliers.

Chestify AI (Ghana): Innovating patient care, Chestify AI facilitates seamless connections and support among clinical professionals through its platform.

OneHealth (Nigeria): A leader in health tech, OneHealth provides an integrated platform for virtual consultations, connecting patients with doctors and diagnostic centers while managing prescriptions and test results online.

Sanya (Senegal): Focused on IT edutainment, Sanya combines education and entertainment in digital products, fostering a community-based approach to tech learning for companies.

Koa Academy (South Africa): Spearheading the future of online education, Koa Academy stands out in South Africa with its innovative approach to digital learning.

The finalists are scheduled to present their pitches for the coveted prize at the end of January, in an event organized and hosted by MEST Africa.
