Top 10 agro-innovators emerge for Agriculture Summit Africa 2023

The 2023 edition of Sterling’s Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA) has entered its penultimate stage, unveiling the top ten innovators who will pitch for grants at the much-anticipated 5th annual event.
This year’s summit will take on the form of an incubator-style investors’ deal room known as ‘AgroPitch.’ The shortlist has emerged as a result of an extensive screening process in which the ASA reviewed a multitude of submissions from its call for applications. The final winners will be announced during the grand event set for November 8, 2023.
Commenting on the shortlist, Dr. Olushola Obikanye, the Group Head for Agriculture and Solid Minerals Finance at Sterling Bank, remarked, “The selection committee received an abundance of impressive submissions. Nevertheless, we are confident that this list of ten agro-innovators has presented exceptionally transformative solutions that demonstrate a deep understanding of the critical challenges within our agricultural sector.”
The ASA 2023 grand finale event promises to be an unforgettable occasion. It will feature a live pitch session, where the top ten innovators will compete for grants and the opportunity to access up to N1 billion in additional financing to scale their initiatives. Key highlights of the event also include a keynote address by Hon. Samson Bugama, the Honorable Commissioner of Agriculture, Plateau State.
This year’s edition marks a significant milestone in the history of the summit, which has established itself as a prominent platform for showcasing promising agro-innovators. It aligns with ASA’s unwavering commitment to advancing agricultural excellence in Africa and beyond.
In line with the organizers’ dedication to supporting and funding agribusinesses across the continent, the 2023 ASA edition will provide benefits to numerous agropreneurs, including consolation prizes that offer advisory services and entrepreneurial education in collaboration with respected educational institutions.
Conceived by Sterling Bank, this year’s ASA is presented in partnership with Leadway Assurance, Thrive Agric, and Noor Takaful.
